I don’t have that much time to go band searching-and I can’t stand the current ‘Indie Rock’ scene. Groups like Kaiser Cheifs, The Strokes, The Killer’s, Arctic Monkey’s are corny (IMO). I’m looking for some new-ish groups that take inspiration from groups like At The Drive-In, Drive Like Jehu, Glassjaw etc…Any recomendations?

Glassjaw=Heavy Screamo Rock Noise VS. Head Automatica= Poppy Happy Noise

I’ve got a mesa single rectifier and it doesn’t cut it for me. Flubby low end, no sizzling distortion, mid heavy moderate rock tone is what this is all about.

I’m into the sounds of Unearth, Killswitch, All That Remains, Glassjaw, Pantera, Zakk Wylde…really ripping stuff. What head should I shoot for? Any ideas where to continue my search? I don’t want to spend a massive amount of cash, as the 2000 dollar heads most of the metalcore bands play just don’t seem to be worth it.

What are the secrets (besides excellent studio enhancements) to getting that heavy heart pounding chuggy sound?

I’ve downloaded this incredible song called Lonely from some random guy’s blog who has the artist listed as Deftones, Glassjaw, and Tool. If the song was in fact recorded by any or all of those artists, or is even actually named Lonely, I can’t find evidence of it anywhere. Does anybody have information and/or the story on this song?
